New Kids Center

The Kid’s Villa Learning Center, with its new location at 9503 Fingerboard Road in Ijamsville, is set to open in August.

Frederick Festivals

The Frederick Celtic Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Urbana Volunteer Fire Department Fairgrounds. Festival admission is $15 and free for ages 12 and younger. Tickets to only the 7 p.m. concert are $10. The Celtic Festival features several bands, Scottish and Irish dancing, and professional Highland athletes competing by tossing tree trunks and throwing heavy weights. Pangaea Frederick festival — New this year, Pangaea Frederick features international music (including Caribbean steel drum band, African music, Andean instrumental music and salsa), international food (including Thai, Mexican and Vietnamese) and dance demonstrations (including hula, belly-dancing and Celtic dancing).
